New files loaded as of 07/24/2010. Every Sunday night I load free plt files here:
Okay when loading my plt files this is what you have to do
Using Pazzles:
Don't click on the file link just Left click and "Save As" rather than just clicking, which opens it. When you open your Pazzles software, import the .plt into the program. You can then save it as a .wpc. You should be all set then.
Using KNK Studio:
1) create a folder to put you plt files in by clicking on "my computer". Then click on C:Drive. A list of all you folders on your C: drive will display. Right click on the white space so you are not clicking on any text and a menu will popup. Select new and then select folder. Then type in "plt". This is where you will download your plt files. C:\plt
1)Open your KNK Studio and then Choose File then navigate to c:\plt folder and then choose Open
you might have to change the file type to all files so you can see the plt files. Then choose the one you want to open.
Then you must reduce the number of nodes by:
Selecting the whole file and then using Arrange/Reduce nodes or
Select all the nodes by double clicking on one of the cut lines and then select the whole file. Your nodes should all show in red now. The next step is to click the U key on your keyboard and half the nodes will deselect. Then click delete. Repeat this process until the object has approximately half the original nodes or use your own judgement.
Using FunTime:
Create a new folder just like in step one above. This is where you will download your plt files.
Open FunTime and Select File and then select Import/PLT/DPF (HPGL).
The import popup window will display, accept default settings.
When the file has completed importing then select all and click on shape/break all
Then select Shape/Advanced Path
Then select Options/Simplify Path. Hope this helps everyone. I recommend downloading the free roland converter and using it. It's great.
